French President Emmanuel
Macron has invited U.S. President Donald Trump for an exclusive dinner at the
Palace of Versailles on June 17, immediately following the G7 summit in
Évian-les-Bains from June 15-17.
The rare venue nods to
Franco-American history ahead of America's 250th independence anniversary and
suits Trump's taste for grandeur, amid past tensions over trade, NATO, and
Ukraine aid.
Topics may cover Ukraine support and global trade, as Macron aims to mend U.S.-Europe divides during the summit.
