SpaceX Launches Three BlueBird Satellites for Space-Based Cell Service

SpaceX lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 2:39 a.m. EDT, deploying BlueBird 8, 9, and 10 for AST SpaceMobile after a precise booster landing on a droneship.

These Block 2 satellites boast 2,400-square-foot arrays for speeds up to 200 Mbps on unmodified 4G and 5G phones, doubling prior models' performance.

AST CEO Abel Avellan shared his team's excitement from the control room, noting all systems are nominal as the company ramps up production for global coverage that could end dead zones everywhere.
