Trump Announces Peace Deal with Iran, Reopens Strait of Hormuz

Trump revealed a completed peace deal with Iran, immediately lifting the U.S. naval blockade and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for 20% of global oil.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iran's Supreme National Security Council confirmed the agreement, which ends military operations including in Lebanon, with a formal signing planned for June 19 in Switzerland.

While markets cheered with oil prices dropping below $81 a barrel, Israel rejected the Lebanon clause and plans no IDF withdrawal, leaving tensions unresolved. Vice President J.D. Vance called it a path to block Iran's nuclear path and boost investment.
