International Energy Agency now sees a 'lost period' in oil demand due to the
ongoing closure, with no reopening expected before 2027 amid Iran-U.S.
tensions.
Iran and Oman agreed on new shipping routes through Iranian waters, including joint mine-clearance, but officials like Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insist this does not mean the strait will reopen without the U.S. meeting seven strict conditions, such as lifting sanctions and withdrawing forces.
