Ruto Refuses to Release Lamu Refinery Deal with Dangote

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna demanded the deal's release, citing Kenya's constitutional right to state information, but Ruto rejected it outright and accused Sifuna of extortion aimed at sabotaging the project. The refinery, set to process 700,000 barrels of crude oil daily, promises jobs, industrial growth, and 500 MW of power to Kenya's grid after groundbreaking last month.

Critics question the secrecy amid local protests from 133 families seeking compensation, while Dangote insists land issues were already settled by the government.
