Kenya Expands Tsavo West Rhino Sanctuary to 3,200 Square Kilometers.

President William Ruto opened the vastly expanded Tsavo West Rhino Sanctuary in Ngulia, Taita Taveta County, growing it from 92 to 3,200 square kilometers—now the world's largest protected rhino range. Started 40 years ago with just three rhinos, it now supports over 200 black rhinos, with new surveillance boosting breeding and security. Ruto announced luxury hotels charging $500 to $1,000 per night to create 18,000 jobs and billions in local revenue by 2030, while critics question if it truly benefits communities or grabs land within the national park.
