16-Storey Building Collapses in Nairobi's South C During Construction

Rescue teams from the Kenya Red Cross, National Disaster Management Unit, police, and county officials rushed to the site in the Shopping Centre area, combing through shattered concrete and rebar for possible trapped workers. No casualties were confirmed by late morning, though the number of people on site remains unclear, with ambulances on standby.

The incident in the bustling residential neighborhood has raised questions about building standards and rapid high-rise development, amid Kenya's history of similar collapses linked to poor practices.
