A court ordered the freezing of bank accounts belonging to Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, his immediate family members, and 10 other individuals in connection with an Sh813 million graft investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), pending a hearing on February 4. This development follows the demolition of Wamatangi's business premises on Kenya Railways land along Douglas Wakiihuri Road opposite Nyayo Stadium, which proceeded despite a court injunction. Separate EACC bids to freeze accounts over a Sh160 million graft probe and involving 13 associates were dismissed by the court as an abuse of process.
