Uganda Army Chief Threatens Opposition Leader Bobi Wine After Election

Following Museveni's declared victory with 71.65% of votes in the January 15 election, which Wine rejected as rigged, Muhoozi claimed security forces killed 22 NUP members and hoped Wine would be next. His posts vowed to kill NUP supporters on sight and included claims of being a prophet from Jesus Christ's bloodline. Wine, in hiding after escaping a reported raid on his home, responded defiantly, while international observers labeled the statements death threats amid post-election deaths and tensions.
