French Authorities Raid X Offices in Cybercrime Probe

The raid, led by the Paris prosecutor's cybercrime unit with help from CyberGEND and Europol, ties to complaints about X's algorithms allegedly amplifying biased content. The probe has grown to cover child sexual abuse material distribution, explicit deepfakes, Grok's Holocaust denial outputs, data fraud, and illegal platform operations. Prosecutors summoned Elon Musk and former CEO Linda Yaccarino for interviews on April 20, while framing the effort as ensuring X follows French laws. Telegram's Pavel Durov called it criminal persecution of freer platforms, amid X's past dismissals of similar claims as political.
