Gachagua Claims SHA Outage Proves His Collapse Prediction

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua pointed to the nationwide Social Health Authority outage, now in its fourth day as of June 10, as proof of his six-month-old warning that the universal health coverage scheme would fail.

Speaking in Nairobi, he quipped with his signature humor: 'When Riggy G tells you your wife is expectant, start buying diapers.'

SHA CEO Mercy Mwangangi blamed a glitch with their service provider, saying it's resolved, though hospitals report ongoing disruptions leaving patients to pay cash for treatments, discharges, and even body releases.
