The strikes targeted Hezbollah
infrastructure in areas like Harouf, Kfarsir, and Sharqiyeh, killing at least
16 people including civilians, in response to alleged ceasefire violations such
as projectiles toward northern Israel.
This escalation follows a U.S.-Iran
deal for a complete ceasefire, which Israel says does not bind it and requires
a security presence south of the Litani River.
With over a million Lebanese displaced since March 2026 and international talks postponed, the violence raises fears of broader conflict.
