Israeli strikes hit southern Lebanon on Friday,
killing at least 12 people including children near Tyre's Jabal Amel Hospital,
despite a Washington deal announced June 3-4 that called for Hezbollah to
withdraw south of the Litani River and Lebanese army control of security
zones.
Hezbollah rejected the terms as humiliating
surrender without full Israeli withdrawal, while Netanyahu said his cabinet
hasn't approved it yet, and strikes continued targeting rocket launchers.
Lebanon's toll since March tops 3,500 dead
and 1.2 million displaced, with Berri proposing parallel pullbacks as a way
forward amid fading hopes for peace.
