Kuwait's Interior
Ministry announced around June 8 that new domestic worker recruitment is
limited to just 10 approved countries, including the Philippines, India, and
Ethiopia, while banning 27 others—mostly African nations like Kenya, Uganda,
and Nigeria.
It applies only to new hires, leaving around 3,500 existing Kenyan workers unaffected, though Kenyans express worries over lost Gulf job opportunities and remittances.
