Kuwait Bans Domestic Worker Recruitment from Kenya and 26 Other Countries.

Kuwait's Interior Ministry announced around June 8 that new domestic worker recruitment is limited to just 10 approved countries, including the Philippines, India, and Ethiopia, while banning 27 others—mostly African nations like Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria.

The move, developed with input from foreign affairs, health, and manpower authorities, aims to improve labor market regulation and monitoring.

It applies only to new hires, leaving around 3,500 existing Kenyan workers unaffected, though Kenyans express worries over lost Gulf job opportunities and remittances.
