Real Madrid Appoints José Mourinho as Head Coach for Three Seasons

Real Madrid's board, led by president Florentino Pérez, confirmed on June 11 that Mourinho will take over as head coach starting July 13, with a contract through June 30, 2029.

He comes from Benfica, where the club received €15 million in compensation, following a tough season that saw Xabi Alonso sacked in January and an interim stint by Álvaro Arbeloa end without trophies.

Mourinho's arrival brings his defensive expertise to a squad starring Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappé, as the team eyes La Liga and Champions League success.
