Uganda Confirms Six More Ebola Cases, Total Reaches 15

The Ministry of Health reported the new infections on Tuesday, all linked to prior patients, with 12 people still hospitalized, two recoveries, and one death so far.

The outbreak traces back to a larger epidemic in neighboring DRC's Ituri province that started mid-May, reaching Uganda via a traveler who died in Kampala.

Officials are tracking 668 contacts, ramping up surveillance in Kampala and nearby areas, and urging anyone with symptoms like fever or bleeding to call 0800-100-066 immediately—early care can help up to half of patients recover.
