Suspected goons armed with bows,
arrows, machetes, and clubs clashed with supporters outside St. Stephen's ACK
Cathedral in Kisumu on Sunday, resulting in one man stabbed to death, another
with serious head injuries, and nine motorbikes set ablaze.
Police used tear gas to break up the violence,
arrested eight suspects with weapons recovered, and condemned it as political
intolerance.
Orengo and Sifuna, key in the Linda Mwananchi reform movement, escaped safely and vowed to continue, accusing state-linked figures amid a pattern of attacks on their events ahead of 2027 elections.
