The Kenya
Urban Roads Authority is leading the construction of the one-kilometre dual
carriageway viaduct stretching from the Integrity Centre area past Serena Hotel
and All Saints' Cathedral to Kenyatta Avenue.
The
project has progressed from the substructure phase, with reinforced concrete
piers and pier caps completed, to the superstructure stage involving precast
girders for the elevated bridge deck.
Upon completion, the viaduct will include cycle lanes and pedestrian walkways to ease chronic traffic congestion between Upper Hill, Valley Road, and the Central Business District.
