Heavy construction works including earthworks, road widening, and drainage improvements are underway on the 175-kilometer Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Highway (A8), launched by President William Ruto, to upgrade it into a modern multi-lane dual carriageway.
The project also involves rehabilitating the 62-kilometer Rironi–Mai Mahiu–Naivasha Escarpment Road and will feature grade-separated interchanges, overpasses, underpasses, truck lanes, pedestrian footbridges, and intelligent transport systems.
