On July 4,
four armed men on motorcycles robbed Chaiiwali Café in Westlands, stealing
phones and valuables while firing shots.
Kenyan
detectives tracked suspect Vincent Ochieng to a house in Joska, where he
allegedly shot at them first; they returned fire, killing him and seizing his
Beretta pistol—serial number H20930Y—belonging to Court of Appeal Judge Aggrey
Muchelule, along with stolen phones and ammo.
The judge,
who rarely used the 2018-licensed gun, gave a statement after police contact;
investigators now probe how it reached criminals, as ballistics tests continue
and a manhunt targets accomplices.
Online views divide between praising DCI's quick action and questioning the fatal shooting or the judge's firearm security.
