Mwaura Mugure, once a major at Laikipia Air Base, was convicted on three counts
of murder for the 2019 killings of his estranged wife Joyce Syombua Maua, 31,
and their children, 10-year-old Shanice and five-year-old Prince Michael.
The murders arose from a child support dispute
after Syombua won a court order for monthly payments of 25,000 Kenyan
shillings, which Mugure paid once before luring the family from Nairobi and
hiding their bodies in Thigithu Estate.
