FIFA
announced bespoke championship rings for the 2026 winners, a first in the
tournament's history, inspired by NFL and NBA customs.
The rings
feature the World Cup trophy with diamonds and sapphires on one side and the
winning nation's colors on the other; 2,026 will be made, with 30 custom-fitted
for players, coaches, and staff, and the rest as numbered fan collectibles.
They'll be presented to Argentina or Spain champions after Sunday's final at New York New Jersey Stadium, where U.S. President Donald Trump plans to attend.
Fans shared mixed reactions, some loving the bling while others called it unnecessary Americanization.
