Kenya Breaks Ground on Raila Odinga Mausoleum

The Kenya Defence Forces will construct the structure at Kango ka Jaramogi in Siaya County, aiming for completion in two months ahead of the first anniversary of Odinga's death on October 15, 2025.

Defence CS Soipan Tuya called it a landmark national heritage project, featuring five symbolic steps, exhibitions, and a digital archive for visitors.

Odinga family members like Oburu Odinga and Raila Odinga Junior praised the modern design that speaks to younger generations, while expressing thanks for the state's support in preserving his story of peace and public service.
