Kenya Launches Ksh 3.06 Billion Youth Business Grants Nationwide

Today, Kenya's government is disbursing Ksh 3.06 billion in free grants to 122,203 youth aged 18-29 under Phase II of the World Bank-funded NYOTA program.

President Ruto leads the event in Nairobi, with events in 17 other venues, including 88,934 returning recipients getting their second Ksh 25,000 tranche and 33,269 first-timers starting with Ksh 25,000.

The initiative offers training, mentorship, and capital to boost jobs and incomes, building on Phase I where 95% of recipients now run businesses.

Officials celebrate success stories like a boda boda operator's growth and Matilda Chepkemboi's restaurant, while warning against scams demanding fees.
