Pentagon Names Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iranian Attacks on Jordan Base

The soldiers died on July 17 and 18 during attacks on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, where U.S. forces supported operations against the Islamic State.

Both served in air defense units: Gonzales with a regiment based in Germany, Feehan from Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

President Trump directed counterstrikes on Iran, vowing retaliation, as leaders across parties mourned the fallen while online debates highlighted partisan divides.

Their deaths mark the first direct Iranian fatalities at the base amid escalating U.S.-Iran tensions.
