Trans Nzoia Governor Natembeya Quits DAP-K Over National Expansion Denial

Natembeya announced his resignation from Eugene Wamalwa's Democratic Action Party of Kenya on July 8 during a Sulwe FM interview, after Wamalwa refused to let him expand the party beyond Western Kenya.

Natembeya endorsed Sifuna for president, vowing to rally Western Kenya's four million votes behind him while seeking his own re-election as governor.

The move reveals growing tensions in Kenya's opposition as 2027 elections approach, with critics warning of a split Luhya vote and calls for unity.
