Central
Command completed its eighth consecutive night of airstrikes on July 18,
targeting surveillance sites, air defenses, and missile storage in retaliation
for Iran's July 17 assault on a U.S. base in Jordan, which left two Americans
dead and one missing.
Iran
claimed to down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone and released footage, adding to over
30 such losses since the war began in February 2026.
With more than 50,000 U.S. troops on high alert in the Middle East, the cycle of retaliation continues without signs of a ceasefire.
