U.S. intelligence is examining
whether Russia provided targeting information or advanced drone tech that
enabled Iran's March attacks on CIA facilities, including the U.S. Embassy
station in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and a site in eastern Iraq.
The strikes damaged structures but caused no
deaths; one drone reportedly created a hole for a second to enter and explode
inside the embassy.
Russia's prior upgrades to Iran's Shahed-136
drones, like the Kometa-M navigation system, raised suspicions amid deepening
military ties between Moscow and Tehran.
The probe highlights growing proxy tensions as Iran has targeted U.S. assets multiple times since early 2026.
