Amazon Prime Air Expands Drone Deliveries to Nearly 500 U.S. Cities by 2026

Amazon plans a sixfold expansion of its Prime Air drone service, reaching nearly 500 cities and towns across the U.S. by the end of 2026 and serving about 30 million people.

Launches are set for year-end in suburban Chicago, Atlanta, metro Cleveland, and Syracuse, New York, adding states like Georgia, Ohio, Illinois, Idaho, and New York to the current seven.

The MK30 drones handle items under five pounds—like groceries, meds, electronics, and household goods—over 7.5 miles, with advanced safety tech enabling independent flights.

David Carbon, Amazon Prime Air VP, highlighted how it offers an even faster option beyond same-day delivery, with over 60% of frequent buys eligible.
