Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's motorcade faced an ambush Friday afternoon in Nakuru Town West's Soko Mjinga area during a DCP tour that included a Naivasha office opening and stops in Gilgil.

Photos captured the damage: a rear window with spiderweb cracks, shattered glass, and a scraped bumper on his Land Cruiser.

Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara condemned the 'goons on the Nakuru government payroll' and called for an end to violence, while Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen ordered arrests for those causing chaos at political events.

No injuries occurred, but the incident highlights rising tensions ahead of 2027 elections.
