Hassan Khomeini Urges IRGC to Back U.S. Deal Using Prophet's Treaty

Hassan Khomeini, grandson of Iran's founding Supreme Leader, spoke at an event with President Masoud Pezeshkian and urged the IRGC to step down in favor of a U.S. agreement.

He likened it to the 628 CE Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, where a truce with Mecca's Quraysh allowed Muslims to regroup and later triumph, arguing diplomacy can yield greater victories than endless wars.

The address, captured in footage from Iranian outlet SNN, has drawn varied reactions amid U.S.-Iran tensions, with some seeing signs of internal divides or reformist pushes while others doubt the IRGC's willingness to compromise.
