Kenya Police Deny Ruto Family Ties in Uniform Tender Controversy

Kenya’s National Police Service stated on August 30 that Bedi Investments Limited won the Sh2.8 billion tender for new general duty uniforms after evaluating local textile samples, following the Public Procurement Act.

They firmly denied any involvement by Nalitex Limited, which did not bid, receive payment, or act as subcontractor. The uniform change aligns with Maraga Task Force reforms and officers' preferences for local manufacturing. Critics like Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino question the timing and call for accountability amid broader procurement concerns.
