National Transport and Safety Authority arrested several people crossing
outside the designated footbridge at Taj Mall Transami in Nairobi, with those
caught set to appear in court.
The crackdown aims to boost road safety and cut disruptions, part of wider city efforts that saw pedestrian deaths drop in July.
Many pointed out vehicles and matatus parked on pedestrian paths nearby, questioning why enforcement skips those blocking walkways.
