Sekeiyan Khalwale passed away on August 15 after collapsing at home; her doctor
husband tried to resuscitate her before rushing her to hospital.
Hundreds attended her burial five days later
at the family home in Malinya, Ikolomani, where Khalwale marked the grave
himself and filled it with his sons.
He thanked Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna for a Sh500,000 donation that aided preparations and politely asked President Ruto not to attend, wanting a simple family farewell.
The ceremony blended deep personal grief with supportive messages from leaders like Siaya Governor James Orengo.
