CIA Warns Spain, France, Italy of Russian Gerbera Drone Threat

The U.S. CIA alerted Spain, France, and Italy about possible attacks using Gerbera drones two-meter-long plywood models that carry up to five kilograms of explosives and reach speeds of 160 km/h with a 600 km range. These drones could target areas like Barcelona, Marseille, Rome, and Naples after reassembly at sea and satellite-guided launches.

The warning followed CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s August 25 Moscow trip, with details from Lithuanian sources reported by El Mundo; while officials haven’t confirmed, it underscores fears of Russian hybrid tactics amid the Ukraine conflict.
