Iran Announces Preemptive Strikes and Hits U.S. Positions in Jordan

Iran's army spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akraminia declared a shift to preemptive strikes wherever threats emerge, linking it to recent operations. Hours later, Iranian sources reported ballistic missile attacks on the U.S. Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, claimed as preemptive against alleged preparations for assault.

Iran also fired anti-ship ballistic missiles toward the Strait of Hormuz for the first time in this conflict, targeting vessels there, amid reports of cruise missiles and disrupted flights. U.S. officials have not confirmed the Jordan strikes, while Jordanian defenses intercepted some missiles in prior incidents with no immediate casualty reports.
