Oman
evacuated 16 crew members from the Saudi-flagged supertanker Sidr after it was
hit by a projectile, reportedly from Iran, about two nautical miles off
Musandam's coast.
Two Filipino crew died, with seven others' status initially unclear out of the 25 aboard; Oman's navy provided medical support and completed the rescue.
Saudi Arabia condemned the attack, urging protection for maritime safety and global energy supplies amid rising tensions in the strategic waterway.
