The crash
happened Friday, September 18, in the Kipeto area of Kajiado West near a wind
power plant. Kajiado West Police Commander Maureen Kuto confirmed the victims
were from the Kenya School of Flying on a standard training run; the student
died at the scene, and the instructor passed away en route to Kajiado Referral
Hospital.
Preliminary reports cite heavy morning mist and a failed emergency landing attempt as factors, with the white and green plane heavily damaged across a dry field. Aviation officials are investigating, while authorities secured the site and warned residents to avoid the wreckage.
