USS Ross Arrives in Mombasa After Middle East Deployment

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Ross docked in Mombasa, Kenya, on September 5 for a routine port visit following operations in the U.S. Fifth Fleet area since April.

Part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, the ship shifted to the Sixth Fleet's Europe and Africa region for resupply, maintenance, and crew rest. Cmdr.

Pia Chapman praised her team's efforts and thanked locals, while U.S. and Kenyan officials highlighted strengthened ties through maritime cooperation, counterterrorism, and exercises like Cutlass Express.
