Saudi Arabia Readies Major Offensive to Retake Bab el-Mandeb Strait from Houthis

Saudi Arabia plans a large ground offensive with over 100,000 Yemeni troops to reclaim the strategic strait, backed by Saudi airstrikes and U.S. intelligence but no direct American combat. Options include a coastal push or attacks across provinces like Al-Bayda, Marib, Taiz, and Al-Jawf, as Riyadh blocks peace talks while Houthis hold leverage.

Pakistan has deployed 30,000 to 40,000 troops to protect Saudi defenses from missiles and drones, amid an emergency Mecca defense pact meeting and risks of broader escalation.
