During
Lourenço's state visit to Tanzania on October 29-30, 2026, the leaders agreed
to link Dar es Salaam's Indian Ocean port to Angola's Atlantic port of Lobito
via Zambia and the DRC, joining the Benguela and TAZARA railways.
This
corridor aims to boost regional trade and access to mineral-rich areas,
building on recent upgrades like China's $1.4 billion TAZARA modernization and
Western support for Lobito.
They also signed deals on justice, air transport, ICT, and metrology, while inaugurating Tanzania's new Mtumba Government City in Dodoma with Lourenço arriving by train.
