Trump announced South Korea's
planned $54 billion investment in an Alaska liquefied natural gas pipeline as
part of a $200 billion pledge in U.S. energy projects, including nuclear plants
and a Texas facility. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy praised it as a historic
boost for jobs and security.
South Korea's industry minister clarified they only agreed to review the project based on commercial viability, with no firm dollar amounts or commitments confirmed in a U.S. fact sheet. The long-delayed 800-mile pipeline still faces hurdles in financing and contracts.
