In a Zoom call hosted by French
President Emmanuel Macron, Trump joined G7 leaders to address global energy
pressures from high diesel costs hitting farmers, truckers, and consumers. The
group agreed to release 100 million barrels of oil and diesel over four months
via the International Energy Agency, with a large diesel portion arriving in
the first 20 days, and committed to no export restrictions.
Trump confirmed no U.S. diesel export ban, and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins highlighted the relief for American farmers and truckers. Supporters praised the quick win, while critics called the camera-off participation unprofessional.
