Ugandans Celebrate 64th Independence Day

Uganda marks 64 years since gaining independence from British rule on October 9, 1962, with a scaled-down event at State House in Entebbe led by President Yoweri Museveni and themed 'Embracing our Sovereignty with Hope and Visionary Leadership.'

Online, people from all walks of life post messages of resilience, prayers for unity, and national pride, like one calling the nation 'very young' at 64. While many highlight sacrifices and hope, some voices note ongoing challenges such as security concerns alongside holiday wishes.
