At the
third Russia-Africa Summit last week, Ruto joined dozens of leaders from 48
countries to push for expanded technology transfers, green development, and
value-added manufacturing beyond raw material exports.
The event ended with a joint declaration, a
2027–2029 action plan, and an AI cooperation statement, amid $27 billion in
annual trade that's grown sharply.
While supporters highlight geothermal energy and skills training, the EU warns of risks from Russia's influence, as African nations pick partners that deliver jobs and infrastructure.
