Before boarding Air Force One to depart Beijing, the U.S. delegation led by President Donald Trump discarded gifts, badges, pins, burner phones, and other items provided by Chinese hosts into trash bins on site. No items of Chinese origin were allowed onto the plane as part of standard counter-espionage security protocols. The delegation had used clean burner phones during the visit after leaving personal devices behind.
