Gen Z Protester 'Mr Speaker Sir' Walks Free on Bond After Pleading Not Guilty

Ezekiel Kyama Nzyoki, a fourth-year Kenyatta University student known for his iconic Parliament breach video, denied charges of unlawfully entering the building and damaging property worth KSh 41 million on June 25, 2024.

The Milimani court released him on a KSh 100,000 personal bond, with his defense highlighting his student status and low flight risk.

The case ties back to Gen Z-led protests that stormed Parliament over the Finance Bill, forcing its withdrawal amid chaos and reshaping Kenyan politics.
