Rubio will visit the United Arab
Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain from June 23 to 25 to discuss the recent
U.S.-Iran memorandum, safe transit through the Strait of Hormuz, and regional
stability.
The trip follows the Islamabad
Memorandum, a Pakistan-mediated deal that includes a temporary ceasefire,
lifting the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports, and talks on Iran's nuclear
program and sanctions relief.
Gulf states, hit hard by strait
disruptions that spiked global energy prices, seek firm U.S. commitments as
Switzerland negotiations continue under Vice President JD Vance.
