President Donald J. Trump and
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed the Islamabad Memorandum of
Understanding, mediated by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, committing
to an immediate ceasefire on all fronts including Lebanon, lifting the U.S.
naval blockade, releasing frozen Iranian assets, and planning at least $300
billion for Iran's reconstruction with regional partners.
The agreement ensures safe passage
through the Strait of Hormuz, with ship traffic and 12.5 million barrels of oil
resuming, and initiates a 60-day period for final negotiations on nuclear
issues, sanctions relief, and ballistic missiles.
U.S. Central Command announced the lifting of the naval blockade on maritime traffic to Iranian ports.
