Ademba, leader of the 'Niko Kadi'
campaign that channels Gen-Z energy into voter registration for 2027, was
detained Thursday while covering violence at the Ol Kalou parliamentary
by-election in Nyandarua County.
Police accused him of filming
without a press pass amid reports of gunmen attacking journalists and lobbing
tear gas.
No charges were filed after public outcry, and he posted KSh 20,000 bail, with supporters hailing the move while vowing to watch for government intimidation ahead of future elections.
